'From darkly satirical to poetically lyrical, the silly to the sublime' ...is how the art of John Dawson has been described.  John's technique involves mixing the media of pastel over graphite which allows him to create his deep, dusty atmospheric images.

 

Background: 

Originally from Canada, John has worked internationally as an illustrator and designer in all areas of publishing and advertising, as well as in the film and animation industries. As a winner of numerous awards, John has been lauded in feature articles in Studio Magazine (N. American edition) and ZOOM Magazine (European and N. American editions). On occasions, he has adapted his creative vision to the screen, working as a production and character designer.
