Iain McKellar

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, at the age of six I relocated to Sydney, Australia with my family. From early childhood I had a natural ability to draw and render anything, real or imaginary. In my late teens I was strongly recommended to apply for a position in a graphic diploma course which I became thoroughly absorbed in and for the next five years I attended Bankstown, Meadowbank and Randwick colleges developing my artistic skills with a great degree of enthusiasm.

After graduating I was offered a position at a prominent Sydney advertising group as a layout artist, thus kicking off my career as an art director and during half a decade of ladder climbing I became the senior art director for Doorley Buchanan Advertising.

Working as an art director, to some degree entertained my need to be creative, but there remained a strong underlying urge toward professional illustration. A chance meeting with a well known Sydney based freelance illustrator convinced me to pursue my dream of turning my passion for drawing into my profession.

I have been living my dream ever since, creating high quality illustrations for a great variety of clients.
