Pablo Bernasconi
Background: Pablo was born in Buenos Aires in 1973, graduated as a graphic designer in 1998 and lives in Patagonia, Argentina. His illustrations have been published in leading newspapers and magazines throughout the world including, 'Clarin', 'Wall Street Journal', 'New York Times', 'La Voz de Galicia', 'London Times', 'Rolling Stone', 'Focus', 'BBC' & 'GQ'.
Awards: 'Zena Sutherland Award': "Captain Arsenio", Best Children's Book of the Year - 2006, University of Chicago. '32 Premio Abril de Journalismo' - 2007 Catagory illustration, Brazil. 'Society of Newspaper Design': 5 awards for newpaper illustrations. 'Luerzer's Archive': '200 Best Illustrators Worldwide', 2005 and 2008, Germany. 'Chicago Book and Media Show': 'Best Cover For Children's School Books, 2006. 'Feria del Libro': First prize, Poster Exhibition 2005. Buenos Aires. 'AOI Images 29 Awards Annual' 2005, UK. 'The Sunday Times': 'Children's book of The Week'. "The Wizard, The Ugly and The Book Of Shame". 'World Book Day Award': 2004. 'Bologna's Children's Book Fair', 2008: invited to exhibit.
To date Pablo has written and illustrated five children's books published and translated in eight languages and has illustrated many more children's books for other authors.
Guest Speaking: Pablo has made presentations at various universities including University of Chicago (USA), Centro Simon Patino (Bolivia), Universidad Tecnologica Metropolitana (Chile), Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad de Moron, Universidad de Cuyo (Argentina).
