Information for Clients
Commissioning An Illustration
When an illustration is commissioned through us, the client will receive an 'Illustration Agreement' based on the detail of their brief. The agreement will include costings, assigned usage rights, due dates, reference material provided in the brief, image dimensions and artist's technique and medium. If all the information in the agreement is appropriate, we then request the client returns a purchase order or a signed copy of the agreement as confirmation. This will trigger the start of the creative process.
The Creative Process
Initially, the artist usually creates a 'pencil rough' of the image based on the illustration brief for the client's approval or further direction Once the 'rough' is approved by the client, the artist will then proceed with the 'rendering' of the image to completion taking into consideration any additional direction from the client. The completed image is then submitted to the client for final approval. This process is a general rule of thumb and can vary depending on the complexity and size of the project.
Terms of Payment
On approval of the finished image, the client will receive an invoice from the Overall Picture. Payment is required not more than 21 days from the date of the invoice unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon by all parties.
